London : George Virtue, 1836. A striking antique print - the Aar Gorge in Canton Bern. Engraved by William Woolnoth (1780-1837) from an original study by the much-travelled William Henry Bartlett. Originally produced for the part-work series "Switzerland Illustrated" (London : 1834-1836).
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 200 x 121mm (approx. 7-7/8" x 4-3/4"). A few minor signs of age, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
