A fine antique print - the city straddling the Rhine - engraved by Edward John Roberts (1797-1865) from an original study by the much-admired painter and illustrator Birket Foster. Originally produced to accompany Henry Mayhew's "The Rhine and its Picturesque Scenery" series (London : 1856-1858).
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 126 x 160mm (approx. 5" x 6-1/4"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
