SHEPHERD, Thomas Hosmer, 1793-1864 : LYON'S INN HALL. [London : Jones & Co., 1831]. A small antique print of the old Inn of Chancery which used to stand off Wych Street - in a huddle of buildings roughly where Bush House now stands, swept away in the Aldwych-Kingsway redevelopment of the early twentieth century. Engraved by W. Syms or Symms (fl.1829-1831) from original studies (now in the Westminster archives) by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd. An attractive antique print of the exterior of the old Olympic Theatre in Wych Street - then under the management of the celebrated Madame Vestris. This particular theatre was destroyed by fire in 1849 - and its successor swept away in the Aldwych-Kingsway redevelopment of the early twentieth century. Engraved by John James Hinchliff (1805-1875) from an original study by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd.
