London : C. Tilt, 1838. An attractive antique print - the fine interior of the Wren church of All Hallows the Great, which formerly occupied part of the Mondial House site. The view shows the chancel screen and pulpit sounding-board now removed to St. Margaret Lothbury. Engraved by Thomas Turnbull (fl.1827-1843) from an original study by the painter and architect Robert William Billings. Originally produced for George Godwin's serially published "The Churches of London" (London : 1837-1839).

COLE, Benjamin : THE PARISH CHURCH OF ALHALLOWS THE GREAT IN THAMES STREET.

[London : 1772]. A handsome antique print - an austere elevation of the Wren church of All Hallows the Great. Originally engraved by Benjamin Cole (fl.1723-1767) for the part-work edition of William Maitland's "History of London" (London: 1753-1756), but here in a slightly later printing from 1772.
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 209 x 242mm (approx. 8-1/4" x 9-1/2"). Trimmed tight to neatlines, but in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 38/047A.

London : J. Booth, 1812. A handsome antique print - the exterior of the Wren church of All Hallows the Great on Upper Thames Street, demolished in the late nineteenth century. Engraved by Joseph Skelton (1785-1850) from an original study (now in the British Museum) by John Coney. Originally produced for the part-work series "Architectura Ecclesiastica Londini; being a Series of Views" (London : 1810-1823) - "the first artistically competent and exhaustive illustration of the golden age of London church building" (Adams). Below the image are several lines of explanatory text.
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 268 x 163mm (approx. 10-1/2" x 6-1/2"). A few tiny marks, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 129/007.

Payne, originally produced for Payne's "Illustrated London, or a Series of Views in the British Metropolis and its Vicinity" (London : 1846-1847), and here in a slightly later impression dating from 1852.

[London : Jones & Co., 1832]. An attractive antique print - a delightful view of the Wren church of All Hallows the Great, which formerly occupied part of the Mondial House site. A wagon waits outside the brewery of Felix Calvert & Co. next door to the church. Engraved by John James Hinchliff (1805-1875) from a pencil drawing (now in the Guildhall Library) by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd, the master recorder of nineteenth-century London. From Shepherd's part-work series "London and its Environs in the Nineteenth Century" (London : 1829-1832).
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 110 x 152mm (approx. 4-3/8" x 6"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 161/179.
