Edinburgh : W. Banks & Son, [ca.1855]. An attractive small antique print – a vignette view of the George Hotel and the ferry-landing overlooking the Menai Straits. The hotel was owned by Ellen Roberts at this period – she promised ample accommodation; sea-bathing; two tables d’hote daily; omnibuses to meet every train from Bangor station; wines of the first-class, and gas-lighting manufactured for the hotel’s sole use and “free from any impurity”. Engraved by William Banks & Son of Edinburgh.
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 81 x 115mm (approx. 3-1/4” x 4-1/2”). A few tiny marks and specks, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
