[London : George Virtue, 1841]. A striking antique print – the town by moonlight – a view from the beach – fishing boats on the water. Engraved by Francis William Topham (1808-1877) from an original study by William Henry Bartlett. Originally produced for the much admired part-work series “Ports, Harbours, Watering Places and Coast Scenery of Great Britain” (London : 1836-1842).
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 137 x 182mm (approx. 5-3/8” x 7-1/8”). Small and faint mark to one margin, but in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

A charming antique print – the beach at Barmouth – shipping tied up – the town beyond – a nautical gentleman points something out to his companions – a fisherman offers a fish to a lady. Engraved by John Walker (fl.1784-1802) from an original drawing by the younger Charles Catton – and originally produced for Walker’s “The Copper-Plate Magazine, or Monthly Cabinet of Picturesque Prints” (London : 1792-1802).
