[London : 1724 (but later)]. A handsome antique print - a bird's-eye view of the famous hospital, its inner courtyards and the adjacent buildings. An engraved explanatory text (dated 1723) gives a brief description and history of the hospital - "it appears that in the year last past, 3,381 persons were cured & discharged". Originally produced as one of the "Several Prospects of the most noted Publick Buildings, in and about the City of London" published by John Bowles in 1724 - but here in a later impression on wove paper dating from the early nineteenth century.
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 171 x 214mm (approx. 6-3/4" x 8-1/2"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

[London : Leadenhall Press, 1891]. A Victorian print - wagons piled high and the hospital to the left. From an original design by the painter and illustrator William Luker and engraved in Paris by Ch. Guillaume & Cie. for the Leadenhall Press publication "London City" (1891).
Hand touched and finished half-tone process block. Image area 163 x 220mm (approx. 6-3/8" x 8-5/8"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

[London : E. T. Brain & Co., 1847]. A most pleasant antique print - Smithfield a hive of activity, sheep and cattle in the pens, Bart's Hospital and St. Paul's beyond. An engraving from the workshop of A. H. Payne, originally produced for Payne's "Illustrated London, or a Series of Views in the British Metropolis and its Vicinity" (London : 1846-1847).
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 91 x 140mm (approx. 3-5/8" x 5-1/2"). A couple of small marks to outer blank margins, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 207/045.

London : T. Hughes, 1805. A neatly worked antique print showing the imposing gatehouse of the hospital. Engraved by S. Owen (fl. 1796-1838) from an original study by the London draughtsman, engraver, printer and printseller, T. Prattent (fl.1790-1819), who had premises in nearby Cloth Fair. Originally produced for B. Lambert, "The History and Survey of London and its Environs from the Earliest Period ..." (London : 1805-1806).
Etching and line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 151 x 87mm (approx. 6" x 3-1/2"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 96/036.

[London : 1878 (or later)]. A charming antique print - a bird's eye view of the hospital and the interior courtyards as they stood in the mid eighteenth century. Engraved by Joseph Swain (1820-1909) from an original study (based on earlier sources) by William Henry Prior and originally produced for the part-work "Old and New London" (London : 1873-1878).
Wood engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 144 x 209mm (approx. 5-5/8" x 8-1/4"). Text on verso. In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
