[London : Simpkin & Marshall, ca.1840]. A very attractive antique print - a view across Brading Haven (now Bembridge Harbour) to nineteenth-century Bembridge. Engraved by Thomas Barber (fl.1818-1840) from an original study by William Henry Bartlett. Originally produced for Barber's "Picturesque Illustrations of the Isle of Wight" (London : 1834) - and here in a slightly later state.
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 110 x 151mm (approx. 4-3/8" x 6"). Very faint crease to left-hand blank margin, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

Wootton Common : G. Brannon, 1840. An attractive print of Brading from the hills above - engraved by Philip Brannon. The engraving decorates a double-leaf of ornamental notepaper, published by the Irish-born George Brannon, long resident on the island and the father of Philip Brannon.
Line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 102 x 142mm (approx. 4" x 5-5/8"). A few slight marks to the notepaper, but the engraving in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
