BARTLETT, William Henry, 1809-1854 : BEMBRIDGE, FROM ST. HELENS.

[London : Simpkin & Marshall, ca.1840]. A very attractive antique print – a view across Brading Haven (now Bembridge Harbour) to nineteenth-century Bembridge. Engraved by Thomas Barber (fl.1818-1840) from an original study by William Henry Bartlett. Originally produced for Barber’s “Picturesque Illustrations of the Isle of Wight” (London : 1834) – and here in a slightly later state.
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 110 x 151mm (approx. 4-3/8” x 6”). Very faint crease to left-hand blank margin, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 110 x 152mm (approx. 4-1/4” x 6”). A few small and faint specks to blank margins, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

Engraved by Edward Francis Finden (1791-1857) from an original study by the fine marine painter Clarkson Stanfield R.A. Originally produced for “Stanfield’s Coast Scenery. A Series of Views in the British Channel” (London : 1836).
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 112 x 140mm (approx. 4-3/8” x 5-1/2”). A few tiny specks to blank margins, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
