JACKSON, I. & BLACK, J. : A GEOLOGICAL AND TOPOGRAPHICAL MAP OF BOLTON AND ITS NEIGHBOURHOOD. [London? : 1837]. An attractive and unusual map of the area, centred on Bolton, but extending westwards to include Horwich, north to Bradshaw and beyond, east to take in Bury, and south to Tyldesley, etc. Coloured to show the extent of the coal measures and outcrops, with mainly red rock conglomerate to the south and quatorze rocks predominating to the north. Compiled by Jackson and Black and lithographed by William Day and Louis Haghe of London for a so-far unidentified publication.
