[BOWEN, Thomas, 1733?-1790] : [CITY OF LONDON] BROAD STREET & CORNHILL WARDS, DIVIDED INTO PARISHES, ACCORDING TO A NEW SURVEY. [London : 1768]. An antique map of Broad Street and Cornhill Wards in the City of London. Centred on Lothbury, Throgmorton Street and Threadneedle Street, the map extends from Cornhill and the upper end of Gracechurch Street in the south, northwards to London Wall via Broad Street and Bishopsgate. The principal buildings shown include the Bank of England, the Royal Exchange, etc. The map (here in its earlier state, still showing Gresham College) is decorated with views of the now long-since demolished churches of St. Christopher Threadneedle Street, St. Bartholomew by the Exchange, and St. Bennet Fink, etc. Originally produced for the "London Magazine" for February 1768. Other maps in this series were engraved by Thomas Bowen and this would also appear to be his work. £100 To confirm availability and to purchase this map please note the stock number 32836 and go to the database.
