[BROWNE, Hablot Knight, 1815-1882 & GARLAND, Robert] : BUCKINGHAM PALACE. [London : W.S.Orr, 1837 (but later)]. A charming antique print depicting what was then the still unfinished Palace, begun in the 1820s by John Nash and completed by Edward Blore. The view includes groups both of tourists and of guardsmen, some on horseback, as well as the Marble Arch, originally designed to stand in front of the Palace but later moved to its present position. Engraved by John Woods (fl.1835-1855) from a study by Hablot Knight Browne ("Phiz") (1815-1882) which was in turn based on a drawing by Robert Garland (d.1863).
