London & Edinburgh : A. Fullarton & Co., [1853]. A most attractive antique print – Loch Fad south of Rothesay – a guide points out the view. Engraved by William Forrest (1805-1889) from an original study by the Greenock artist John Fleming. Originally produced for “Scotland Illustrated” (1845) and here in a slightly later impression.
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 134 x 184mm (approx. 5-1/4” x 7-1/4”). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

[Glasgow : Joseph Swan, 1830]. A fine antique print – a view across the harbour – mothers and children stroll by the shore. Engraved by Joseph Swan (d.1872) from an original study by the Greenock artist John Fleming. Originally produced for Swan’s “Select Views on the River Clyde” series.

Engraved by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd (1793-1864) from an original study by John Preston Neale. Originally produced for the partwork series “Views of the Seats, Mansions, Castles, etc. of Noblemen and Gentlemen” (London : 1829-1831).

STANFIELD, Clarkson, 1793-1867 : ROTHESAY CASTLE, ISLAND OF BUTE.

London : John G. Murdoch, [1854 (but later)]. A most attractive antique print – the ruins of the castle, sheep by the well – from an original drawing by the well-known Clarkson Stanfield R.A. Originally produced for John Parker Lawson’s “Scotland Delineated in a Series of Views” (London : 1847-1854), but here with the later imprint of J. G. Murdoch and produced for his undated publication “Scotland, Picturesque, Historical, Descriptive”.
Tint lithograph on paper. Later hand colour. Printed surface 151 x 189mm (approx. 6” x 7-3/8”). One small water-colour splash in lower margin, but otherwise in fine and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
