[London : 1827]. A scarce antique print - boys and masters cross the yard - by John Chessell Buckler. Originally produced for Buckler's "Sixty Views of Endowed Grammar Schools from Original Drawings by J.C.Buckler" (London 1827).

[London : 1878 (or later)]. An attractive antique print - the square laid out in avenues of trees, St. Paul's in the distance. Based on an earlier (early eighteenth century) print and engraved by "W.H." (perhaps the London wood-engraver William Harcourt Hooper, 1835-1912). Originally produced for the part-work "Old and New London" (London 1873-1878).

[London : 1720]. A handsome antique map of the area just north of Smithfield Market - from the River Fleet in the west (following the line of the modern Farringdon Road), to St. John's Gate to the north, and to Goswell Street in the east. Readily recognisable place names include Turnmill Street, Cowcross Street, St. John's Lane, St. John Street, and the cluster of buildings and gardens making up the Charterhouse. A keyed table gives the names of twenty-nine of the smaller rents, courts, inns and alleys. Originally produced for the 1720 edition of John Stow's "Survey of London".
