ROBSON, George Fennell, 1788-1833 : WEST VIEW OF THE CITY OF CHICHESTER.

London : J. Britton, 1826. A fine antique print - a general view of the city from the open fields to the west - a rainbow counterpoints the cathedral. Engraved by Thomas Jeavons (1794-1867) from an original study by George Fennell Robson and originally produced for John Britton's "Picturesque Views of the English Cities" (London : 1826-1828). The edition was strictly limited to 1,000 impressions and the original plates were destroyed in January 1829 after that number had been printed.
