[London : 1883]. A pleasant antique print - a sailing barge on the River Lea. Engraved from an original study by William Henry James Boot and originally produced for the part-work "Greater London: a Narrative of its History, its People and its Places" published between 1882 and 1884.
Wood engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 103 x 144mm (approx. 4" x 5-5/8"). Text on verso. In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

[ENGLISH SCHOOL] : THE LONDON ORPHAN ASYLUM, HACKNEY ROAD. MIDDLESEX.

[London : 1860]. An antique print - the fine classical edifice built in 1823 to accommodate 300 destitute orphans and later becoming the Clapton Congress Hall of the Salvation Army. The central portion still stands in Linscott Road. Originally produced for Thomas Dugdale's part-work survey published as "The Curiosities of Great Britain" or "England Delineated" in various formats between 1838 and 1860.
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 82 x 111mm (approx. 3-1/4" x 4-3/8"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

SHEPHERD, Thomas Hosmer, 1793-1864 : LONDON ORPHAN ASYLUM, CLAPTON.

London : Jones & Co., 1828. An antique print - the fine classical edifice built in 1823 to accommodate 300 destitute orphans and later becoming the Clapton Congress Hall of the Salvation Army. The central portion still stands in Linscott Road. Engraved by Henry Winsor Bond (fl.1827-1881) from an original study by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd. From Shepherd's part-work series "Metropolitan Improvements; or London in the Nineteenth Century" (London : 1827-1830).
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 104 x 150mm (approx. 4-1/8" x 5-7/8"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 154/147.
