[London : 1878 (or later)]. A pleasant antique print of the exterior of the old parish church – the burial place of Christopher Marlowe. Engraved by Charles James Bromley from an earlier study and originally produced for the part-work “Old and New London” (London : 1873-1878).

SCHNEBBELIE, Robert Blemmel, 1781-1847 : DEPTFORD, FROM THE GREENWICH ROAD.

London : J. Robins & Co., [ca.1820]. An interesting early nineteenth-century antique print of the town – a view from across open fields, a glimpse of Greenwich beyond. Engraved by William Hawkins (fl.1784-1809) from an original study by Robert Blemmel Schnebbelie. Originally produced in 1808 for the part-work by “Dr David Hughson” [David Pugh] known as “London; Being an Accurate History and Description of the British Metropolis” (London : 1805-1809) – and here in a slightly later impression.
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 106 x 169mm (approx. 4-1/8” x 6-5/8”). A couple of faint and tiny marks to upper margin, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
