London : James Stratford, 1808. An interesting early nineteenth century antique print of the town - a view from across open fields, a glimpse of Greenwich beyond. Engraved by William Hawkins (fl.1784-1809) from an original study by Robert Blemmel Schnebbelie (fl.1803-1849). Originally produced for the part-work by "Dr David Hughson" [David Pugh] known as "London; being an Accurate History and Description of the British Metropolis" (London 1805-1809).
Copper line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 111 x 169mm (approx. 4-3/8" x 6-5/8"). Just a hint of age and dustiness, but in very good state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
