[MOULE, Thomas, 1784-1851] : ENVIRONS OF PLYMOUTH & DEVONPORT. [London : 1834 (but later)]. A fine antique map of the country some ten miles round Plymouth - taking in Calstock, Saltash, Plympton, Newton Ferrers, etc. Originally engraved by John Crane Dower (fl.1820-1847) for the part-work "English Counties Delineated" (London 1830-1837) prepared by the antiquary Thomas Moule. Decorated with the arms of the city, a patterned border, and a vignette view of the Citadel. Originally engraved in 1834, the present version, showing slight revision, is dated to about 1842.
