[London : George Virtue, 1836]. A pleasant antique print – a distant view of Edinburgh from the ramparts of Craigmillar Castle. Engraved by Thomas Abiel Prior (1809-1866) from an original study by the gifted Thomas Allom. Originally produced for the part-work series “Scotland Illustrated” (London : 1835-1838).
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 137 x 189mm (approx. 5-3/8” x 7-3/8”). A few tiny marks to outer blank margins, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

Engraved by John Cousen (1804-1880) from an original study by the well-known William Henry Bartlett. Originally produced for the part-work series “Scotland Illustrated” (London : 1835-1838).
