	[BOWEN, Thomas, 1733?-1790] : FARRINGDON WARD WITHOUT, WITH ITS DIVISIONS INTO PARISHES, FROM A LATE SURVEY. London : R. Baldwin, 1772. An attractive antique map of Farringdon Ward Without at the western edge of the City of London, including Holborn, Fleet Street and the roads between - as well as Smithfield and the surrounding area. The map is decorated with a rococo cartouche. Originally produced for the "London Magazine" in 1772, the present (slightly revised) version of the map was utilised in John Noorthouck's part-work "A New History of London including Westminster and Southwark" (London : 1772-1773). Other maps in this series were engraved by Thomas Bowen and this would also appear to be his work. Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 169 x 220mm (approx. 6-5/8" x 8-5/8"). A couple of tiny marks to outer blank margins, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique map. Adams 51/023. Hyde (Ward Maps) 80/2.
