London : J. Britton, 1829. A handsome antique print – the seventeenth-century hall designed by Edward Jarman – a view from the river, with men at work on the construction of the new London Bridge in the foreground. Etched and engraved by Rob Roberts (fl.1829-1835) from an original study by William Henry Bartlett. Originally produced for John Britton’s part-work publication “Picturesque Antiquities of the English Cities” (London : 1828-1830).
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 167 x 207mm (approx. 6-5/8” x 8-1/8”). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 165/004.

[COLE, Benjamin, 1697?-1783] : FISHMONGERS HALL NEAR LONDON BRIDGE.

[London : for T. Osborne & J. Shipton; and J. Hodges, 1756]. A handsome antique print – a plain and elegant depiction of the old Fishmongers’ Hall on the Thames. Originally engraved by Benjamin Cole for the part-work edition of William Maitland’s “History of London” (London : 1753-1756).
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 161 x 229mm (approx. 6-3/8” x 9”). Trimmed tight to margins, a few faint marks and a minor crease, but otherwise in very good state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 38/042A.

London : Vernor, Hood & Sharpe, 1811. An attractive small antique print – the river-front facade of the old Fishmongers’ Hall. Engraved by Robert Sands and originally produced for the part-work “Beauties of England and Wales” (1801-1816).
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 78 x 100mm (approx. 3-1/8” x 4”). Trimmed a little tight at head, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 104/009B.

An antique print of the elegant portico of the old seventeenth-century Fishmongers’ Hall, designed by Edward Jarman, demolished in 1827 to accommodate the new London Bridge. Engraved by John Greig (fl.1800-1843) from an original study by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd, the master recorder of nineteenth-century London. From Shepherd’s part-work series “London and its Environs in the Nineteenth Century” (London : 1829-1832).
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 111 x 69mm (approx. 4-3/8” x 2-3/4”). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 161/076.

[TOPHAM, Francis William, 1808-1877 & GARLAND, Robert, 1808-1863] : FISHMONGER’S HALL.

[London : W. S. Orr, 1837 (but later)]. An attractive antique print of the northern approach to London Bridge, with Fishmongers’ Hall to the right, the bridge and Southwark Cathedral beyond. Engraved by John Woods (fl.1835-1855) from a composite study by Francis William Topham and Robert Garland. Originally produced for Woods’ “History of London : Illustrated by Views in London and Westminster”, first published in parts 1837-1838 and subsequently reissued in various guises between 1838 and 1862.
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 111 x 150mm (approx. 4-3/8” x 5-7/8”). Just a touch darkened with age, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 188/012.
