[ANGUS, William, 1752-1821] : HABERDASHERS HALL, MAIDEN LANE.

[London : Vernor, Hood & Sharpe, 1811]. A pleasant small antique print – the old Wren hall in Maiden Lane (that being the former name of this section of Gresham Street). Engraved by William Angus and originally produced for the part-work “Beauties of England and Wales” (1801-1816).
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 112 x 76mm (approx. 4-1/2” x 3"). Trimmed to left-hand neatline, but in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 104/008B.

SHEPHERD, Thomas Hosmer, 1793-1864 : HABERDASHER’S HALL, MAIDEN LANE [HABERDASHERS’ HALL, GRESHAM STREET].

[London : Jones & Co., 1830]. An attractive small antique print of the handsome entrance to the old Wren hall in Maiden Lane (that being the former name of this section of Gresham Street). Engraved by William Watkins (fl.1828-1848) from an original study (now in the Guildhall Library) by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd, the master recorder of nineteenth-century London. From Shepherd’s series “London and its Environs in the Nineteenth Century” (1829-1832).

SHEPHERD, Thomas Hosmer, 1793-1864 : THE NEW GRESHAM COLLEGE LONDON.

[London : 1860]. A handsome antique print of the old Gresham College on Gresham Street, built by George Smith in 1842-1843. Engraved by James Tingle (1801-1858) from an original study by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd. Originally produced for Thomas Dugdale’s part-work survey published as “The Curiosities of Great Britain” or “England Delineated” in various formats between 1838 and 1860.
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 120 x 110mm (approx. 4-3/4” x 4-3/8”). Very minor marking to right blank margin, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 186/066.
