A very pleasant antique print - the Grey Coat Hospital at Westminster, erected to teach the poor children of the parish loyalty, utility and Christianity. It has been a school for girls only since 1874. Engraved from a study by William Henry Prior and originally produced for the part-work "Old and New London" (London : 1873-1878). Wood engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 106 x 145mm (approx. 3-1/2" x 5-3/4"). Text on verso. In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
