[London : 1852]. A charming small antique print of the hospital. An engraving from the workshop of A.H.Payne, originally produced for Payne's "Illustrated London, or a Series of Views in the British Metropolis and its Vicinity" (London: 1846-1847), and here in a slightly later impression.
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 67 x 81mm (approx. 2-5/8" x 3-3/8"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 207/043A.

London : Jones & Co., [1832]. An attractive antique print - a view of the interior courtyard of Guy's Hospital, visitors coming and going, and the statue of the founder - the bookseller Thomas Guy. Engraved by the highly skilled Thomas Higham (1796-1844) from an original study by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd (1793-1864), the master recorder of 19th century London. From Shepherd's series "London and its Environs in the Nineteenth Century" (London 1829-1832).

[London : 1878 (or later)]. An antique print by William James Welch (fl.1864-1900), giving a view of the nineteenth century Guy's Hospital - a carriage crossing the courtyard, etc. Originally produced for the part-work "Old and New London" (London 1873-1878).
Wood engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 104 x 143mm (approx. 4-1/8" x 5-5/8"). Text on verso. In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

[London : 1739]. A handsome antique print - a large bird's eye view of the original Guy's Hospital, built at the expense of the bookseller Thomas Guy between 1722 and 1725. Originally engraved, in his usual formal style, by William Henry Toms (fl.1723-1758) from a 1738 design by the painter Robert West (fl.1734-1739) for William Maitland's "The History of London, from its Foundation" (London 1739).
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 220 x 360mm (approx. 8-1/2" x 14-1/4"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 33/020.

[London : 1772]. A handsome antique print - an imposing bird's-eye view of the original Guy's Hospital, built at the expense of the bookseller Thomas Guy between 1722 and 1725. Originally engraved, in his usual formal style, by William Henry Toms (fl.1723-1758) from a 1738 design by the painter Robert West (fl.1734-1739) for William Maitland's "The History of London, from its Foundation" (London 1739) - and here in a later impression, with the addition by Benjamin Cole (whose name replaces those of West and Toms) of lamp-posts, railings and gate-posts in the foreground.
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 218 x 360mm (approx. 8-1/2" x 14-1/8"). Tiny paper-flaw in one place, faint fringe of discolouration to extreme outer margin, not affecting the image, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 38/082.
