[London : Cassell & Co., 1883]. A charming wood-engraving – a view from the river of the nineteenth-century church of St. Mary’s and the village. Originally produced for the part-work “Greater London : A Narrative of its History, its People and its Places” published between 1882 and 1884.
Wood engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 85 x 137mm (approx. 3-3/8” x 5-3/8”). Text on verso. In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

LUKER, William, 1862-1934 : HAMPTON COURT BRIDGE.

[London : Leadenhall Press, 1893]. A pleasant late nineteenth-century antique print – a view along the Thames to Hampton Court Bridge – a barge and a rowing-boat in the foreground. From an original design by the painter and illustrator William Luker and engraved in Paris by Ch. Guillaume & Cie. for the Leadenhall Press publication “London City Suburbs” (1893).
Hand touched and finished half-tone process block. Image area 221 x 160mm (approx. 8-3/4” x 6-1/4”). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

[MARSHALL, Charles, 1806-1890] : HAMPTON COURT. SURREY.

London : Simpkin, Marshall & Co.; C. Tilt & the Proprietors, [1838]. A charming antique print – Hampton Court from across the river – a rowing boat on the Thames – cattle on the bank. The plate was later corrected to read ‘Middlesex’ rather than ‘Surrey’ below the title. Engraved by Josiah Henshall (1801?-1869) from an original study by the landscape painter Charles Marshall. Originally produced for the part-work “Select Illustrated Topography of Thirty Miles Round London” (1837-1838).
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 114 x 144mm (approx. 4-1/2” x 5-3/4”). A few very faint marks and tiny specks, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 190/014.
