London : George Virtue, 1831. A charming antique print – a view of the town from the sea – small craft bucketing in choppy waters. Engraved by John Rogers (1800?-1882) from an original study by William Henry Bartlett. Originally produced for “The History and Topography of Essex” published in parts from 1831 onwards.
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 111 x 173mm (approx. 4-3/8” x 6-7/8”). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 137 x 127mm (approx. 5-3/8” x 4-7/8”). A few tiny specks, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

WARREN, Henry, 1794-1879 : HARWICH. ESSEX.

London : George Virtue, [1842]. A handsome antique print – a view of the town from the south – in the foreground soldiers take their ease by a gun emplacement – locals milk their cows etc. Engraved by Edward Francis Finden (1791-1857) from an original study by Henry Warren. Originally produced for the much admired part-work series “Ports, Harbours, Watering Places and Coast Scenery of Great Britain” (London : 1836-1842).
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 147 x 178mm (approx. 5-3/4” x 7”). Faint marking in lower margin, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
