[London : 1878 (or later)]. An attractive antique print of of the old eighteenth-century Haymarket Theatre - theatre-goers arrive by foot and by coach - the lights at the entrance flare. Engraved from an earlier source and originally produced for the part-work "Old and New London" (London 1873-1878).
Wood engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 105 x 143mm (approx. 4-1/8" x 5-5/8"). Text on verso. In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

[PAYNE, Albert Henry, 1812-1902] : HAYMARKET THEATRE.

[London : John Tallis & Co., 1852]. A neatly-worked small antique print - placards outside the theatre advertise productions of "As You Like It", etc. An engraving from the workshop of A. H. Payne, originally produced for Payne's "Illustrated London, or a Series of Views in the British Metropolis and its Vicinity" (London : 1846-1847), and here in a slightly later impression.
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 66 x 85mm (approx. 2-5/8" x 3-3/8"). Trimmed a little close, faint corner crease, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 207/106A.

London : Read & Co., [1851]. A handsome antique print of the old Her Majesty's, with its Nash colonnade, at the top of the Haymarket - the theatre where Jenny Lind made her debut in 1847. Originally produced for the part-work series generally known as "The World's Metropolis, or Mighty London, Illustrated by a Series of Views Beautifully Engraved on Steel" (London 1851-1855). Engraved by William Edward Albutt (fl.1836-1863) from an original study by Samuel Read R.W.S., draughtsman, illustrator and painter.

A handsome antique print of the old Her Majesty's Theatre (rather larger than the present building), with its Nash colonnade, at the top of the Haymarket - the theatre where Jenny Lind made her debut in 1847. Engraved by M. Fox from an original drawing by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd, the master recorder of nineteenth-century London. Originally produced for Shepherd's series "Metropolitan Improvements; or London in the Nineteenth Century" (London : 1827-1830).

Engraved by William Wallis (b.1796 fl.1816-1855) from an original study by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd, the master recorder of nineteenth-century London. From Shepherd's part-work series "Metropolitan Improvements; or London in the Nineteenth Century" (London : 1827-1830).
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 98 x 148mm (approx. 3-7/8" x 5-7/8"). A couple of tiny marks ito blank margins, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 154/030.
