[London : George Virtue, 1842]. An attractive antique print – a view of Hull from the sea – small craft in the foreground. Engraved by William Finden (1787-1852) from an original study by the north-country artist George Balmer. Originally produced for the part-work series “Ports, Harbours, Watering Places and Coast Scenery of Great Britain” (London : 1836-1842).
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 128 x 177mm (approx. 5-1/8” x 7”). A couple of tiny marks to lower margin, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

[London : 1833 (but later)]. A pleasant antique print – the town from the sea – engraved by Henry Wallis (1805-1890) from an original study by Charles Bentley. Originally produced for “The Watering Places of Great Britain” (London : 1833), but here in a later impression dating from about 1860.

[LYDON, Frank (Alexander Francis), 1836-1917] : BURTON CONSTABLE.

[London : W. Mackenzie, 1880]. A handsome antique print – the Elizabethan mansion of Burton Constable Hall north-east of Hull – a view from the park as the hunt prepares to go out. A technically highly accomplished production, colour printed in eight or more overlays from separate wooden blocks by Benjamin Fawcett (1808-1893) from original draughts (drawn on the wood) by Frank Lydon. Originally produced for the Francis Orpen Morris part-work “County Seats of the Noblemen and Gentlemen of Great Britain and Ireland” (1864-1880).
Multiple wood block engraving in colours (chromoxylograph). Engraved surface 126 x 187mm (approx. 5” x 7-3/8”). A few tiny specks, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
