[London : Cassell, Petter, Galpin & Co., 1883]. An attractive antique print – a prospect of Douglas from above the harbour. Engraved from a study by Adam Forsyth, worked up from a photograph by the local photographer, Abel Lewis (1839-1914). Originally produced for the partwork publication “Our Own Country” (London : 1879-1883).
Wood engraving on paper. Engraved surface 139 x 201mm (approx. 5-1/2” x 8”). A couple of tiny specks, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

MANESSON-MALLET, Allain, 1630-1706 : IS DE MAN ET D'ANGLESEY.

[Paris : Denys Thierry, 1683]. A striking antique map offering a pleasant image of the seventeenth-century Isle of Man, with Anglesey and the Welsh coast to the south – from the French mathematician, engineer and surveyor Allain Manesson-Mallet. Originally produced for Mallet’s "Description de l'Univers : contenant les differents systemes du monde" (Paris : 1683).
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 150 x 105mm (approx. 5-7/8” x 4-1/8”). Text on verso. One tiny spot, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique map.
