[London : 1720]. A fine antique map of the wards of Langbourn and Candlewick in the heart of the City of London, taking in Lombard Street, Fenchurch Street, Cannon Street, Eastcheap, Gracechurch Street, the Monument, Exchange Alley and a cluster of City churches. Originally produced by Richard Blome in the late seventeenth century, the map remained unpublished until the present version appeared with the 1720 edition of John Stow's "Survey of London".
Copper line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 294 x 361mm (approx. 11-5/8" x 14-1/4"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique map. Adams 37/038. Hyde (Ward Maps) 85/2.

[London : R. Baldwin], 1772. An attractive antique map of the wards of Langbourn and Candlewick in the heart of the City of London, taking in Lombard Street, Fenchurch Street, Cannon Street, Eastcheap, Gracechurch Street, the Monument, Exchange Alley, etc. The map is decorated with a neatly-worked title-piece and views of four of the local churches, All Hallows Lombard Street, All Hallows Staining (the image is in fact of St. Olave Hart Street), St. Clement Eastcheap and St. Mary Woolnoth. Originally produced for the "London Magazine" in 1768, the present version of the map was utilised in John Noorthouck's part-work "A New History of London including Westminster and Southwark" (London : 1772-1773). Other maps in this series were engraved by Thomas Bowen and this would also appear to be his work.
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 183 x 235mm (approx. 7-1/4" x 9-1/4"). A few minor marks to outer blank margins, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique map. Adams 51/015. Hyde (Ward Maps) 43/2.
