Engraved by Horace Harral (1817-1905) from an original study by the French painter and illustrator Adrien-Emmanuel Marie. Originally produced for “The Graphic” of 20th December 1884.

London : R. Ackermann, 1809. A fine antique print – a view of the old Leadenhall Market, specialising in the sale of skin and hide. Drawn and engraved by Pugin and Rowlandson – Rowlandson contributing the figures (men at work, loading, unloading, etc.) and Pugin the architectural detail, with the aquatint work contributed by Joseph Constantine Stadler (fl.1780-1822). Originally produced for Ackermann’s part-work “The Microcosm of London” (London : 1808-1810).
