[London : The Graphic, 1884]. A most attractive print of Leadenhall Market illuminated by gaslight, with racks of poultry and game being sold to Christmas shoppers. Engraved by Horace Harral (1817-1905) from an original study by the French painter and illustrator Adrien-Emmanuel Marie. Originally produced for "The Graphic" of 20th December 1884.
Wood engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 192 x 301mm (approx. 7-1/2” x 11-7/8”). Text on verso. In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

ROWLANDSON, Thomas, 1756-1827 & PUGIN, Augustus Charles, 1762-1832 : LEADEN HALL MARKET.

London : R. Ackermann, 1809. A fine antique print – a view of the old Leadenhall Market, specialising in the sale of skin and hide. Drawn and engraved by Pugin and Rowlandson – Rowlandson contributing the figures (men at work, loading, unloading, etc.) and Pugin the architectural detail, with the aquatint work contributed by Joseph Constantine Stadler (fl.1780-1822). Originally produced for Ackermann’s part-work "The Microcosm of London" (London : 1808-1810).
Etching and aquatint on paper. Full original hand colour. Engraved surface 205 x 258mm (approx. 8-1/8” x 10-1/8”). A couple of tiny marks, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 99/050.

London : Robert Wilkinson, 1825. A handsome antique print of the old Leadenhall Market, with people at work, a wagon being loaded, etc. Engraved by Thomas Dale (fl.1818-1828) from an original study by George Samuel (fl.1785-1823). Originally produced for the publisher Robert Wilkinson’s ambitious part-work “Londina Illustrata, Graphic and Historic Memorials” (London : 1808-1825).
Copper line engraving and etching on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 302 x 223mm (approx. 11-7/8” x 8-3/4”). A few faint specks, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 131/137.
