[London : George Virtue, 1831 (but later)]. A fine antique map of the county - engraved by William Schmollinger (fl.1831-1837) and James Bingley (1796-1869) in flamboyant gothic style and decorated with coats of arms, an architectural border, and inset views of Lincoln Cathedral and Grimsthorpe Castle. Originally engraved in 1831 for Thomas Moule's part-work series "English Counties Delineated" (London : 1830-1837). The present version, showing minor revision, is dated to about 1840.
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 257 x 203mm (approx. 10-1/8" x 8"). Cropped just a little tight at head, some occasional and faint discolouration at extreme outer margins, but a very good example. A guaranteed genuine antique map.

A highly attractive town-plan of Boston in Lincolnshire, decorated with a gothic architectural border, coats of arms and inset views of the bridge, Louth Church and Nocton House. Originally engraved in 1831 by James Bingley (1796-1869) for Moule's "English Counties Delineated" series (London : 1830-1837), with the present edition dating from about 1842.
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 246 x 182mm (approx. 9-3/4" x 7"). Mild tanning to outer margins, with one tiny spot, but otherwise in very good state. A guaranteed genuine antique map.

London : J. & C. Walker, [ca.1860]. A clearly engraved map of the county from the Admiralty engravers John & Charles Walker - on a scale of some five miles to the inch, particular attention being given to the newly built railways. Originally published in 1835, but here in a later and updated version.
Line engraving on paper, with original hand colour. Engraved surface 397 x 325mm (approx. 15-3/4" x 12-7/8"). Folding into a contemporary glazed paper case with printed label; just a hint of tanning, case a little rubbed, but overall in very good and clean condition for a fragile item.
