[London : 1854]. An attractive print of the interior of the Victorian Lloyd's (still in its old home in the Royal Exchange) - one o'clock and top-hatted Lloyd's men read the "Globe" and the "Standard". Originally published with the "Illustrated London News" of 7th October 1854.
Wood engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 173 x 225mm (approx. 6-7/8" x 8-7/8"). Text on verso. A few slight marks and creases, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

From an original design by the painter and illustrator William Luker. Engraved in Paris by Ch. Guillaume & Cie. for the Leadenhall Press publication "London City" (1891).
Hand touched and finished half-tone process block. Later hand colour. Image area 101 x 145mm (approx. 4" x 5-3/4"). Text on verso. In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

A fine dramatic antique print of the interior of Victorian Lloyd's - anxious faces, top-hats and whiskers - from an original study by the much admired social-realist draughtsman William Bazett Murray (fl.1871-1890). Originally published with the "Illustrated London News" of 20th January 1877.
Wood engraving on paper. Engraved surface 303 x 238mm (approx. 12" x 9-3/8"). Text on verso. A couple of tiny marks, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

A most attractive antique print - the interior of the early nineteenth-century Lloyd's - earnest conversations, eager examination of small print, men at desks, etc. Engraved from a study (based on the well-known Thomas Rowlandson and Augustus Pugin aquatint of 1809) by William Henry Prior. Originally produced for the part-work "Old and New London" (London : 1873-1878).

SHEPHERD, Thomas Hosmer, 1793-1864 : EAST INDIA HOUSE. LEADENHALL STREET.

London : Read & Co., [1855]. A delightful antique print - a bustling street scene, with the Blackwall omnibus, carriages, and fashionably dressed pedestrians in front of the imposing facade of old East India House, at the corner of Leadenhall Street and Lime Street (the site of the present Lloyd's building). Engraved by William Wallis (fl.1816-1855) from an original study by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd, the master recorder of nineteenth-century London. From the scarce part-work series generally known as "The World's Metropolis, or Mighty London, Illustrated by a Series of Views Beautifully Engraved on Steel" (London : 1851-1855).

London : E. Gambart & Co., 1854. A delicate and scarce antique print - a study of Leadenhall Street and old East India House at the corner of Lime Street (the site of the present Lloyd's building). Lithographed by Deroy from an original study by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd (1793-1864) and printed in Paris by Lemercier. Dated 1854 in the plate.
Tint lithograph on paper, with original hand colour. Printed surface 151 x 182mm (approx. 6" x 7-1/8"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
