Engraved by John Woods (fl.1835-1855) from a study by Hablot Knight Browne ("Phiz") (1815-1882) which was in turn based on a drawing by Robert Garland (d.1863). Originally produced for Wood's "History of London : Illustrated by Views", first published in parts 1837-1838 and subsequently reissued in various guises between 1838 and 1862.

[ENGLISH SCHOOL] : VIEW OF LONDON BRIDGE AS IT APPEARED AFTER THE CONFLAGRATION OF THE TEMPORARY BRIDGE, APRIL 11TH 1758.

[London : 1758]. An uncommon broadside news print - a view from the west - London Bridge partly collapsed (London Bridge is Falling Down) in the aftermath of the fire that destroyed the temporary wooden walkway at the centre of the bridge on 11th April 1758. The houses were permanently removed after this time. The print is clearly related to the one published by William Herbert at the same time, but differs in title and minor details.
Etching and line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 212 x 328mm (approx. 8-3/8" x 12-7/8". Trimmed to neatlines; short repaired tear to lower margin; old vertical folds with slight wear; but a good and presentable example of a scarce survival. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

Engraved by Thomas Abiel Prior (1809-1866) for the "Art Journal" from the original painting by Clarkson Stanfield.

London : Tombleson & Co., [1833]. A handsome antique print of the bridge from the south, with the City of London along the far shore and St Paul's Cathedral framed by one of the arches. With an engraved decorative border of hands clasping in amity between the arms of the City and those of Southwark. Engraved by Henry Winkles (1800-1860) from an original study by William Tombleson (fl.1824-1846). Originally published in the part-work series "Tombleson's Views of the Thames and Medway" (London : 1833-1834).

[London : 1739]. A fine eighteenth-century print - a striking depiction of old London Bridge, with the houses still standing, the river racing through the pontoons and small craft approaching warily. Originally engraved by William Henry Toms (fl.1723-1758) for William Maitland's "The History of London, from its Foundation" (London : 1739).
Copper line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 201 x 320mm (approx. 7-7/8" x 12-1/2"). Mild creasing and a few very faint marks, but a sharp impression in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 33/004.

Engraved by John Woods (fl.1835-1855) from a composite study by Francis William Topham and Robert Garland (d.1863). Originally produced for Woods' "History of London: Illustrated by Views in London and Westminster", first published in parts 1837-1838 and subsequently reissued in various guises.
