London : J. Booth, [ca.1814]. A handsome antique print – the exterior of the Wren church of St. Margaret Lothbury. Engraved by William Wise (fl.1790-1818) from an original drawing by John Coney. Originally produced for the part-work series “Architectura Ecclesiastica Londini; being a Series of Views” (London : 1810-1823) – “the first artistically competent and exhaustive illustration of the golden age of London church building” (Adams). Below the image are several lines of explanatory text.
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 271 x 163mm (approx. 10-5/8” x 6-1/2”). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 129/067.

[London : E. T. Brain & Co., 1847]. A charming antique print – Lothbury from the corner of the Bank of England in the mid nineteenth century. An engraving from the workshop of A. H. Payne, originally produced for Payne’s “Illustrated London, or a Series of Views in the British Metropolis and its Vicinity” (1846-1847).
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 98 x 140mm (approx. 3-7/8” x 5-1/2”). A few tiny specks, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 207/068.

Payne, originally produced for Payne’s “Illustrated London, or a Series of Views in the British Metropolis and its Vicinity” (London : 1846-1847) – and here in a slightly later impression.

London : Jones & Co., 1828. A delightful antique print – a lively street scene with carriages and crowded pavements in front of Sir John Soane’s Tivoli Corner – the corner of the Bank at the angle of Princes Street and Lothbury. Engraved by William Wallis (fl.1816-1855) from an original study by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd, the master recorder of nineteenth-century London. Originally produced for Shepherd’s series “Metropolitan Improvements; or London in the Nineteenth Century” (London : 1827-1830).
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 104 x 156mm (approx. 4-1/8” x 6-1/8”). A few tint specks, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 154/088. Bank 65.

London : Vernor, Hood & Sharpe, 1809. An elegant antique print of – a view of the early nineteenth-century Bank of England from Lothbury. Engraved by James Stewart (1791-1863) and John Burnet (1784-1868) from an original study by the painter and architect James Robert Thompson (fl.1806-1848). Originally produced for the part-work “Beauties of England and Wales” (1801-1816).
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 109 x 158mm (approx. 4-1/4” x 6-1/4”). Trimmed a little tight at foot, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 104/024. Bank of England 54.
