London : J. Booth, [ca.1814]. A handsome antique print - the exterior of the Wren church of St. Margaret Lothbury. Engraved by William Wise (fl.1790-1818) from an original drawing by John Coney. Originally produced for the part-work series "Architectura Ecclesiastica Londini; being a Series of Views" (London : 1810-1823) - "the first artistically competent and exhaustive illustration of the golden age of London church building" (Adams). Below the image are several lines of explanatory text.
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 271 x 163mm (approx. 10-5/8" x 6-1/2"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 129/067.

[London : Leadenhall Press, 1891]. An antique print - a vignette view of bidding in progress - fasionably dressed women and top-hatted gentlemen gaze intently at the rostrum. From an original design by the painter and illustrator William Luker and engraved in Paris by Ch. Guillaume & Cie. for the Leadenhall Press publication "London City" (1891).
Hand touched and finished half-tone process block. Later hand colour. Image area 79 x 133mm (approx. 3-1/8" x 5-1/4"). Text on verso. In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

[London : John Tallis & Co., 1852]. A charming small antique print of Lothbury from the west. An engraving from the workshop of A. H. Payne, originally produced for Payne's "Illustrated London, or a Series of Views in the British Metropolis and its Vicinity" (London : 1846-1847) - and here in a slightly later impression.
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 68 x 88mm (approx. 2-3/4" x 3-3/8"). Very faint mark at foot, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 207/031A.

A delightful antique print - a lively street scene with carriages and crowded pavements in front of Sir John Soane's Tivoli Corner - the corner of the Bank at the angle of Princes Street and Lothbury. Engraved by William Wallis (fl.1816-1855) from an original study by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd, the master recorder of nineteenth-century London. Originally produced for Shepherd's series "Metropolitan Improvements; or London in the Nineteenth Century" (London : 1827-1830).
