[London : George Virtue, 1839]. A most attractive antique print – a view across the bay to Eastport, Maine at the eastern extremity of the United States. Engraved by Charles Cousen (1813-1889) from an original study by William Henry Bartlett. Originally produced for the part-work series “American Scenery” (London : 1837-1839).
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 138 x 178mm (approx. 5-1/2” x 7”). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

DOUGHTY, Thomas, 1793-1856 : DESERT ROCK LIGHT HOUSE. (MAINE.)

[London : George Virtue, 1839]. A handsome antique print – waves beat at the foot of Mount Desert Rock off the New England coast, men haul a spar ashore in the foreground. Engraved by William Radclyffe (1783-1855) from an original study by the Hudson River School artist, Thomas Doughty. Originally produced for the part-work series “American Scenery” (London : 1837-1839).
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 139 x 182mm (approx. 5-1/2” x 7-1/8”). A couple of faint marks to lower margin, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

Engraved by Robert Hinshelwood from an original study by Harry Fenn. Originally produced for the serially published “Picturesque America” (New York : 1872-1874), with the present example from the London edition of 1881-1885.
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 150 x 226mm (approx. 5-7/8” x 8-7/8”). Overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
