[London : for J. Tonson & J. Watts, 1718]. A delightfully engraved scroll-style road map from the scarce early set of road maps published as “A Pocket Guide to the English Traveller”. The road from Gloucester via Huntley, Lea, Ross-on-Wye, Much Birch, Hereford, Birley, Pembridge, Presteigne, Knighton and Clun to Montgomery. The map is dedicated to the Hon. George Caswal.
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 172 x 270mm (approx. 6-3/4” x 10-5/8”). A sharp and fine unfolded impression, very lightly browned, but in very good state. A guaranteed genuine antique map.
