An attractive antique print - Bonnie Castle Gordon "where waters flow and wild woods wave" in the words of the Robert Burns poem - a view from the grounds - a party with dogs and horses head down the drive. Engraved by Robert Sands (1782-1855) from an original study by the gifted Thomas Allom. Originally produced for the part-work series "Scotland Illustrated" (London 1835-1838).
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 132 x 170mm (approx. 5-1/4" x 6-3/4"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

Engraved by William Forrest (1805-1889) from an original study by the Scottish landscape painter and pioneer of photography, David Octavius Hill. Originally produced for Hill's "The Land of Burns, a Series of Landscapes and Portraits" (Glasgow 1840).
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 115 x 138mm (approx. 4-1/2" x 5-1/2"). Faint mark in lower margin, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
