A neatly worked and detailed town plan of Newcastle as it stood at the beginning of the nineteeth century. Engraved by John Roper (fl.1792-1810) from a draught by G. The map is decorated with the town's coat of arms and a view of St. Nicholas - the latter separately engraved by John Roffe (1769-1850) from an original study by James Robert Thompson (fl.1806-1848).
