OWEN, Samuel, 1768-1857 : RANDALL’S MILL, NINE ELMS.

London : Vernor, Hood & Sharpe; & W.Cooke, 1809. A charming antique print – a delicate etching of the old windmill on the banks of the Thames at Nine Elms – a barge ties up to the wharf. Etched and engraved by William Bernard Cooke (1778-1855) from an original study by Samuel Owen. Originally produced for Owen’s first series of Thames views – “The Thames” (London : 1809-1811).
Etching and line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 194 x 114mm (approx. 7-5/8” x 4-1/2”). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 106/058.

[London : John Tallis & Co., 1852]. A charming small antique print of the station. An engraving from the workshop of A. H. Payne, originally produced for Payne’s “Illustrated London, or a Series of Views in the British Metropolis and its Vicinity” (London : 1846-1847), and here in a slightly later impression.
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 68 x 85mm (approx. 2-3/4” x 3-5/8”). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 207/078A.
