FLEMING, John, 1792-1845 : CAMBUSNETHAN HOUSE, THE SEAT OF ROBERT LOCKHART ESQ.R OF CASTLEHILL.
[Glasgow : Joseph Swan, 1830]. A very attractive antique print – a view of Cambusnethan House or Priory near Hamilton – "splendidly ornamented with pinnacles and tabernacle work" – designed by William Gillespie of Edinburgh in 1819. Engraved by Joseph Swan (d.1872) from an original study by the Greenock artist John Fleming. Originally produced for Swan’s “Select Views on the River Clyde” series.
[NEALE, John Preston, 1780-1847] : WISHAW, LANARKSHIRE.
[London : Jones & Co., 1831]. A handsome antique print – a view of Wishaw House or Wishaw Castle – then the seat of Lord Belhaven. Engraved by Henry Adlard (1799-1893) from an original study by John Preston Neale. Originally produced for the partwork series “Views of the Seats, Mansions, Castles, etc. of Noblemen and Gentlemen” (London : 1829-1831).
