BARTLETT, William Henry, 1809-1854 : [OFFALY] ANCIENT CROSS, CLONMACNOISE.

[London : George Virtue, 1842]. A handsome antique print - people venerate the ancient carved cross - round towers and the river to the side. Engraved by Henry Griffiths (fl.1835-1849) from an original study by the much-admired William Henry Bartlett. Originally produced for the Bartlett part-work "The Scenery and Antiquities of Ireland" (London: George Virtue, 1840-1842).
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 144 x 180mm (approx. 5-5/8" x 7-1/8"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

[LYDON, Frank (Alexander Francis), 1836-1917] : [OFFALY] BIRR CASTLE.

[London : 1880]. A handsome antique print - a view from the celebrated gardens. A technically highly accomplished production, colour printed in eight or more overlays from separate wooden blocks by Benjamin Fawcett (1808-1893) from original draughts (drawn on the wood) by Frank Lydon. Originally produced for the Francis Orpen Morris part-work "County Seats of the Noblemen and Gentlemen of Great Britain and Ireland" (1864-1880).
Multiple wood block engraving in colours (chromoxylograph). Engraved surface 133 x 186mm (approx. 5-1/4" x 7-3/8"). Faint mark to upper right-hand corner, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

Engraved by James Sargant Storer (1771-1853) and Henry Sargant Storer (1797-1837) from an original study by the Irish artist and archaeologist George Petrie R.H.A. Originally produced for the part-work series "Ireland Illustrated" (London : 1829-1832).
Line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 120 x 149mm (approx. 4-3/4" x 5-7/8"). Trimmed close and lacking imprint, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
