A delightful antique print – a delicate etching of the timber-framed houses at the centre of the village, with the parish church of St. John the Baptist beyond. Etched and engraved by George Cooke (1781-1834) from an original study by his son, Edward William Cooke. Originally produced for the part-work series “Views in London and its Vicinity” (1826-1834).

A wood-engraved rendition of the George Cooke etching published in 1828, originally produced for the part-work “Greater London : A Narrative of its History, its People and its Places” published between 1882 and 1884.
