London : Baldwin & Cradock, 1833. A finely worked town-plan of Lisbon, giving good detail at a scale of something over four inches to the mile. A scrolled inset shows the environs and spread across the lower border is a fine prospect of the city. Engraved and printed by Josiah Henshall (fl. 1827-1855) from a drawing by the architect W. B. Clarke, as part of a series produced for the "Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge" (1831-1843).
Steel line engraving on paper. Original hand colour. Engraved surface 315 x 381mm (approx. 12-3/8" x 15"). Just a hint of surface dustiness, but overall in very good and clean condition. A guaranteed genuine antique map.
