IRELAND, Samuel : NEWBOLD ON AVON.

London : Samuel Ireland, 1795. A most attractive antique print - the houses clustering around the church, a horse on the towpath pulls a barge. Originally published as part of the "Picturesque Views on the Upper Avon" series (London 1795) produced by Samuel Ireland (fl.1760-1800).
Sepia aquatint on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 123 x 163mm (approx. 4-7/8" x 6-3/8"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

RADCLYFFE, Charles Walter, 1817-1903 : [RUGBY] THE AVON VIADUCT.

[London : Charles Tilt, 1839]. A handsome antique print - an early passenger train steams across the just completed Avon Viaduct near Rugby - cattle by the river - a man fishing in the foreground. Engraved by William Radclyffe (1783-1855) from an original study by Charles Walter Radclyffe. Originally produced for Thomas Roscoe's "The London and Birmingham Railway" (London : 1839).
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 107 x 150mm (approx. 4-1/4" x 5-7/8"). A few tiny marks, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
