[London : Simpkin & Marshall, 1834]. A pleasant antique print – Ryde from the sea – the pier prominent in the foreground. Drawn and engraved by Thomas Barber (fl.1818-1840), and originally produced for “Barber’s Picturesque Illustrations of the Isle of Wight” (London : 1834).
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 107 x 154mm (approx. 4-1/4” x 6”). A couple of small and faint marks to blank margins, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

Originally published in 1839 as one of a series of prints of the island produced by Westall from the late 1830s onwards – and here as re-published in 1857 with the original date erased.
