London : Simpkin & Marshall, [ca.1840]. A charming antique print - a view through the trees to the steps. Drawn and engraved by Thomas Barber (fl.1818-1840) and originally produced for his "Picturesque Illustrations of the Isle of Wight" (London : 1834) - and here in a slightly later state.
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 154 x 100mm (approx. 6" x 4"). A few small and faint marks to blank margins, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

GODFREY, Richard Bernard : KNIGHTON THE SEAT OF GEORGE M BISSET ESQR.

[London : ca.1800]. A pleasant antique print - the Elizabethan manor house of Knighton Gorges near Newchuch on the Isle of Wight. George Maurice Bisset demolished the house in 1821 to prevent his daughter inheriting. Engraved by Richard Bernard Godfrey (b.1728) and originally produced about 1780, but here in a later impression on wove paper dating from about 1800.
Etching and line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 145 x 196mm (approx. 5-3/4" x 7-3/4"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
