[London : Fisher, Son & Co., 1836]. A pleasant antique print – the abbey ruins at Jarrow, the church of St. Paul beyond. Engraved by William Holmes Capone (1810-1881) from an original study by the well-known Thomas Allom. Originally produced for the part-work series “Gage d’Amitié : The Northern Tourist” (London : 1835-1836).
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 105 x 154mm (approx. 4-1/8” x 6”). Tiny dark spot in the sky, a couple of faint marks to lower margin, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
