London : Jones & Co., 1831. A handsome antique print of the eighteenth-century house facing Green Park. Engraved by Thomas Barber (fl.1818-1846) from an original study by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd, the master recorder of nineteenth-century London. Originally produced for Shepherd’s series “London and its Environs in the Nineteenth Century” (London : 1829-1832).

An elegant eighteenth-century print of Spencer House – a building not in fact completed until 1766. “I know not, in England, a more beautiful piece of architecture” (Arthur Young). Engraved by Benjamin Green (1736?-1800?) from an original study by the painter and illustrator Samuel Wale, first Professor of Perspective at the Royal Academy. Originally produced for Robert Dodsley’s part-work compilation, “London and its Environs Described” (London : 1761).
