A handsome antique print - Bishopsgate and the George Dance church of St. Botolph without Bishopsgate, where John Keats was baptised in 1795. Engraved by Joseph Skelton (1781?-1850) from an original study by John Coney. Originally produced for the part-work series "Architectura Ecclesiastica Londini; being a Series of Views" (London : 1810-1823) - "the first artistically competent and exhaustive illustration of the golden age of London church building" (Adams). Hopgood, goldsmith, at 202 Bishopsgate Without, and the old Bishopsgate Watch House. Engraved by John James Hinchliff (1805-1875) from an original study by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd, the master recorder of nineteenth-century London, and dated 1832 in the plate.
