Engraved by John le Keux (1783-1846) from a study by the painter and architect Robert William Billings. Originally produced for George Godwin's serially published "The Churches of London" (London : 1837-1839).

[London : Leadenhall Press, 1891]. An antique print - a charming depiction of late Victorian Bishopsgate. From an original design by the painter and illustrator William Luker. Engraved in Paris by Ch. Guillaume & Cie. for the Leadenhall Press publication "London City" (1891).
Hand touched and finished half-tone process block. Later hand colour. Image area 116 x 91mm (approx. 4-1/2" x 3-1/2"). Text on verso. In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

London : H. Setchel & Son, 1810. An attractive antique print - a view of St. Helen Bishopsgate through trees. Engraved by William Johnstone White (fl.1804-1812) from an original drawing (now in the Guildhall Library) by William Pearson (fl.1798-1813). Originally produced for the part-work series "Architectura Ecclesiastica Londini; being a Series of Views" (London : 1810-1823) - "the first artistically competent and exhaustive illustration of the golden age of London church building" (Adams). Below the image are several lines of explanatory text.

A handsome antique print of Great St. Helen's and the adjacent buildings - engraved by William Wise (fl.1790-1818) from an original water-colour (now in the Guildhall Library) by Robert Blemmel Schnebbelie (fl.1803-1849). Originally produced for Robert Wilkinson's ambitious part-work "Londina Illustrata, Graphic and Historic Memorials" (London : 1808-1825).

London : Robert Sayer, 1736 [but 1880]. A fine antique engraving of the Bishopsgate church, originally engraved by William Henry Toms (fl.1723-1758) in 1736 from an original drawing by the painter Robert West (fl.1734-1739) for their series of views known collectively as "Perspective Views of all the Ancient Churches" (London : 1736-1739). The present edition, characterised by the later addition of the imprint of Robert Sayer and a series number in the top right hand corner, is dated to 1880, when these fine eighteenth century plates were reissued by R.H.Laurie.
