Originally published with the part-work series "Tombleson's Views of the Thames and Medway" (London : 1833-1834).

An engraving from the workshop of A. H. Payne, originally produced for Payne's "Illustrated London, or a Series of Views in the British Metropolis and its Vicinity" (London : 1846-1847).

[London : J. Booth, ca.1814]. A handsome antique print - a view of the ancient church of St. Katherine, shortly before it was demolished to make way for St. Katherine's Docks. Engraved by W. Preston from an original drawing (now in the Guildhall Library) by William Pearson (fl.1798-1813). Originally produced for the part-work series "Architectura Ecclesiastica Londini; being a Series of Views" (London : 1810-1823) - "the first artistically competent and exhaustive illustration of the golden age of London church building" (Adams). Below the image are several lines of explanatory text, recording how the church was saved from riot and "the effects of error and intoxication".
